Tonight I am going to see The Audition, 1997 and some other random bands. This guy who I was dating a while back got me a ticket, so we are going together. We are really close still, and I love him to death. However, one of my best friends is being a hypocrite about the situation. She asked me to go AFTER he did, and I said we could all go, then she didn't want to be in the midst of our drama... Even though, she hangs out with people constantly that she has problems with. Me and the guy have NO problems whatsoever anymore, we just have a blast, like I do with anyone else. I do not like drama, and I do not surround myself with it. However, as a friend, it is your duty to be there for someone if they are having problems with someone else or not. And she needs to learn that. I can not think of the best way to let her know that her closed minded ways are really getting to me. I love her a lot. She and I have had so many fun times. But when it comes to certain topics (this guy being one of them) she just refuses to see any views but her own. It also occurs with things she knows very little about, and she will make very bold claims saying that the things are "stupid", with no explanation. The other day, she said the Dixie Chicks were stupid for standing up against the Bush administration. Saying that someone is foolish for expressing their views in a free country is completely ignorant, whether you agree with their views or not. She will be so awesome (she already is, but moreso) when she learns to open her mind to things that may scare her or be out of her comfort zone. I sometimes forget I am a year older and a year, at this age, is quite a bit. Hopefully tonight goes well... Because as of now, the three of us are seeing the show together.
